Why Should I Buy Through An Affiliate Link?

I know this is a topic that many people are interested in and also many people tend to not want to purchase through someone else’ affiliate link.  Even other affiliate marketers are sometimes reluctant to purchase through someone else’s affiliate link?  Why is this?  Several Reasons…

• Some people think they can purchase it for less if they do not go through an affiliate link.  This is just not true.  You will pay the same amount if you purchase directly from the vendor or through the affiliate who has helped you find the product you need.  The only exception may be if you are also an affiliate.  However, most affiliate marketing programs forbid affiliates from purchasing through their own affiliate links.  Others like Clickbank, severely frown on this practice.  An affiliate could even lose their affiliate account if this became a habit.  It is not worth the risk.
• Others are simply opposed to giving the affiliate marketer their commission.  They know that this affiliate whose link they are going through might earn 15% of the sale and in some cases up to 75% of the purchase price.  If you are greedy, then you might think that is just too much for the affiliate to get.  However, consider the fact that the affiliate has actually done a lot of work to help you find the product.  They have found you and helped bring you and the product together.  They have put time and effort into designing a squeeze page, website, blog, review, product research, keyword research, search engine optimization, pay per click, and more.  They have invested money into Google Adwords, Web hosting, learning the newest marketing techniques, website design, copywriting, late nights, competing with other affiliates, and more.  Believe me, they have earned their commission.  Many of the links on this site are affiliate links, but they all lead only to excellent products that have been researched or personally purchased and used.
• Still others think that the affiliate will walk away with their commission even if they are unsatisfied with the product.  That is not true.  The affiiliate does not get paid immediately.  They will not get paid until usually 30 days after the sale is complete, sometimes not until after the 60 day guarantee period is up.  If there is a refund, the affiliate will lose his or her commission, too.  That is one reason that most affiliates are unwilling to promote products that tend to have a high refund rate.  Affiliate marketers have a vested interest in only recommending the best products since their income depends on it.

So, there is really no downside to purchasing through an affiliate link.  If the product is good and the affiliate has done a good job promoting it and bring it to your attention, then reward him or her with their small commission.  In fact, you may even be building a relationship that will bring more good things to you.  We will discuss that in a later article.

Anxiety Attacks Affiliate Example

I thought I would show you an example of an affiliate marketing campaign.  I have focused on the keyword, anxiety attacks.   I am promoting a Clickbank Product called Panic Away.  It is a really excellent program that really helps people who suffer regularly from anxiety attacks and panic attacks.  It has been a top seller at Clickbank for many years and continues to improve and sell well because it is a truly excellent program that really helps people change their lives.  This is the type of program you should look for to promote.  Programs that truly help people because these are the programs that will sell.

You can find excellent programs in health and fitness, relatioships, etc. that will meet that need.  You can also find products at Clickbank that will people accomplish their goals and meet their needs such as learning a new language, or saving a marriage. 

I have purchased a domain name, set up a blog, started a squidoo lens, created a squeeze page, a confirmation page, a download page, and started an email campaign at GetResponse.  I used the GetResponse webform to create the webcapture for my squeeze page.  Since I have just started this campaign and I have not completed it yet, you can see its current progress, but not a highly polished product. 

I think I will use this campaign as a teaching campaign for everyone to follow along.  Below I am going to give you the link to my squeeze page which is part of the blog so you can work yourself around the blog, too.  I will also show you how to set up a simple redirect link.  You will see on my blogroll or links here at Affiliativity.com that I have an affiliate link set up to this product under my links on the right hand column.  I will also show you a source or several sources where you can find excellent Wordpress themes like the one I am using for my Anxiety Attacks campaign.

As time allows me, I am going to show you a very fast and shockingly simple way to create all of these pages.  I am going to show you how to do it with a Wordpress blog.  I am also going to show you how to create some very fast and easy graphics.  I will show you how to create an email campaign.  Hint, one of the best things to do before you create an affiliate marketing campaign is to go to the website of the vendor you are considering and subscribe to their ezine yourself.  This way, you know how they follow up on their prospects.  You will also find out what kind of marketing they have found effective.  Save their email campaign in a folder in your own email account.  You may be able to use similar emails in your own campaign.

You will notice that I made the graphic a clickable link to the affiliate website.  I also gave the graphic the same title as the affiliate website so when a person drags their mouse over it and the name of the graphic comes up, it is also the name of the website where I want them to go.  I also used the affiliate website name as the caption for the picture and put the name of the website on the graphic itself using Paint.

An Alternative To Article Marketing
